Ray of light

Since this blog wasn't intended to be entirely negative, here's something positive that really made my day.

Yesterday I called an online shop because I wanted to make an order of their products.
But since this order was intended as a gift and I wanted to order them directly to the address to which they are intended, and not to my address, I had to call to clarify this case with the company sending.

There was a man on the phone who was extremely kind. He explained everything to me in detail - all the possibilities that the company offers. He also suggested that we not disconnect while I went through all the steps of the order, changing the data that needed to be changed.

Well, I refused because it wasn't really necessary. But after I finished, I called again for further clarification and confirmation of the order with all its features and details.
It seemed that the man's working hours were over. Children's voices could be heard in the background. Yet he have picked up the phone and confirmed the order. Again, infinitely kind.

Now I know what you're going to say - the man is a salesman, a businessman, that's his job - to be polite to buy his products.
But not. This is not the case at all.
First, you can always feel when someone is doing or saying something servile just because "it's their job." And you can always feel the difference when someone is just like that.
And the second, more important thing is that in Bulgaria people in general have not yet learned how to do business.

They did not learn elementary manners or elementary business etiquette. Most of them. Even if a salesman speaks to you politely and respectfully, in most cases his disrespect and deceit are understood in his behavior and voice, as well as in his actions.

Not to mention the cases in which they are openly rude.

So, yesterday's call and order were really a ray of light. An unexpected ray in the infinitely long and deep tunnel of the unpleasant mentality of the people in the country where I am forced to live.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
