On Vacation
We can't just 'go on vacation'.
It is not possible, and I can't even imagine it, to go to sea in a single place, single resort, single hotel, let alone "all inclusive".
(In fact, I've never been to an all-inclusive hotel and I have no idea what it is.)
I can't imagine taking a towel and going to the beach every day. Spending my day on the beach. Then in the evening going to a nearby pub, to a disco, then to bed. Then in the morning: coffee, breakfast. Then - beach, restaurant, disco... And so on all days.
As befits a person on vacation. As it should be during the holidays: complete relaxation, no unnecessary movements, no unnecessary activities. No tension.
At least, because any exposure to the sun of my sensitive skin is very dangerous.
However, I managed to burn it even now, in late May, out of season and when the weather was still not very hot, and when I was not explicitly lying on the beach.
Secondly, hey, life is too short to lie on the beach when you go to an unfamiliar place and there are so many things to discover.
What? Is the place known?
Why is it known, then?
There are so many places in the world, so many places even in your own country, that can be discovered, waiting to be discovered.
(These pictures were taken from the balcony of a hotel room in the small resort of Sinemorets, where we had decided to return again some day. The hotel was quiet and pleasant, ideal even for work, let alone for rest. But it never happened to get back there.)
Years ago, I was very surprised by some people, mostly Belgians and Germans, who went on holiday every year to the same place - a campsite that is not even next to a pond. So, every year is the same - the same uninteresting area. Nature, yes, tranquility, yes, but nothing extraordinary. Nothing interesting.
For me, this is unthinkable.
I have already started to make a list in Google Maps of good hotels where I have found myself on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast (I do not know if you know what a luck it is to find a good hotel in Bulgaria).
I do it for informational purposes. But I am almost certain that I will not need it, because it is almost certain that I will not visit these places again.
First, you know why I am currently traveling only in Bulgaria (because I can't afford anything else). Second, the world is too big and vast to just stop in one place (and lie there on the beach 😅)

| Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
Different people have different ideas and expectations. I have both friends who enjoy nothing but the beach, restaurant, and bar, and friends who must see everything they can about a new place.
Have a great Sunday!
I am not defending either of the two. I know from experience how tiring the latter is. 😅 Maybe over the years I will change and focus on the first option so that I can fully enjoy life 😊
Have a great Sunday too!
😊👍😊
Thank you very much!
Looks like a nice relaxing place in those pictures
One day i will come to Bulgaria and have a look around :)
Hi @kiwiscanfly, it is nice and relaxing just outside of the season - the time when I allow myself to visit it 😊
I've written about it before - the Bulgarian Black Sea coast can be a beautiful and pleasant place, but not in the high season, when there is a bad service, high prices and the possibility of getting sick due to the sewage pouring into the sea is very high.
Otherwise, Bulgaria has a beautiful nature (I think most Bulgarians are proud of this, because they have nothing else to be proud of) and I could recommend it to visit, just to experience and see something different.
Congratulations !!!

You've shared a beautiful place with us. We are moving to the coast tomorrow so I suppose from now on I can say that I am permanently on holiday.
From now on I will have to go overseas to go on holiday. (•ิ‿•ิ)
Ha ha, that's really great, @patjawell! That has always been my dream - to leave on the coast. You know, people born there are usually very special. We, outsiders, cannot be like that, but I hope we can take advantage of these latitudes in the best way too.
Enjoy your holiday/not holiday life there! 😊
Thank you! Moving in the earlier hours tomorrow so yah, we cannot wait :-)
👍 😊
