Life in a backpack - evacuation fears

For several days now, I have been considering what to take with me in the event of an evacuation. I have not yet taken out my backpack and I have not started to separate various things in it. I secretly hope that they will give us time to pack our bags, as they have given all Ukrainians time to prepare their suitcases. None of them left unprepared, only with their clothes on.

Well, in the case of what the government is currently mentally trying to prepare us for - an atomic bomb, there will be no time to pack.
Still, I'm not doing it yet. Mostly because I don't know what to take with me.

Luckily, I've been on the Camino and I know how to live with a few things for a long time - three T-shirts, three pairs of socks, three pairs of underwear (of course, when you have the opportunity to wash every day.) But this will not be just one Camino. Maybe I should take other things with me here. Not just the ones a person needs to survive for a while.

But what should I take with me?

Should I take my most valuable things? Because, this will not be just a departure from home, a trip from which we will return one day and life will go the old way. If we go back, will we find the house intact? Will it not be robbed? And won't it be destroyed? And there, where we'll go, if we can go anywhere at all, will it be safe?

No, I'm not talking about valuables, expensive things, I'm talking about my life. I'm talking about things that come to mind when you are asked what you would take with yourself if ...?
I do not think we are prepared for this "if". Not just in the 21st century. I don't think one is ever prepared for that.
You've been building something your whole life, and then a bomb just falls. Everything disappears and everything becomes meaningless.

I have tried over the years to pack my life in one suitcase (so many times I have had to do it). I still can't do it, but I think I've improved over the years.

Although today we are not even talking about a suitcase. We talk about a backpack, because it is easier to carry.

Well, special skills are required to fit life in a backpack. And I'm afraid I haven't acquired them yet.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
