Communism heritage

It is incredible what communist propaganda has achieved in the past.
What it is achieving now, and what propaganda is achieving in general.
How it used and played with people's lives to achieve its own goals.

I deeply doubt that all those people who came, who were sent to the south of the country to build this famous communist city, Dimitrovgrad, did this voluntarily.

I deeply doubt that all these smiles we see today in the propaganda photos taken then were real.
That people were really happy then, that they believed in what they were doing and they did it with desire and pleasure.
Because I do not believe in the genuineness of any smile during communism.

And here is a monument to a "great Bulgarian poet", the symbol and face of the then time and regime.
He lived happily here and built a new world, a new city of concrete...

Then he committed suicide ... at the age of 29...Because he lived happily here...

I'm sure it wasn't talked about then. No one mentioned the cause of death of this young, happy and talented man, who glorified communism in his poems.
He was then immortalized with a large monument in one of the wonders of communist architecture in this city - the concrete park.
And that was enough, I guess.
Also that he was proclaimed a great poet.

But was he really such a great poet?
I read some of his verses, and I can't help wondering how anyone could have written such things.
Unless he was forced to do so.

So I suspect that this young man was a really talented poet, but because he was forced to write poems praising communism and concrete he wrote things that didn't seem very talented to me.

And I suspect that he was very unhappy, like most of the young people sent here, for some unknown reason.
Well, at least he got his monument, his poems carved on huge stones in this park that even bears his name.

Giving his name to a park to compensate and redeem his death.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
