Bots and phone calls

And on top of that, I imagine I have a choice. No, I do not imagine, but act as if I have, though I know I have not. And I've already turned down several job offers - complete madness!

Unknown numbers keep calling on my phone. And I continue answering, although I know that I will not get the desired "surprise" so to speak. I'm really starting to confuse surprise and desire lol. Because the most ordinary things in life have already become surprises - their permanent absence.

Usually calls me Yana. She has been calling me for over a year. The same woman, the same female voice offers me the same things - some medical devices for the elderly, which could be purchased or won at some organized event for the presentation of the company in some city in Bulgaria. At first I was very angry about these calls, I told you. But then I began to feel very sorry for this woman, Yana, who sounded so professional and played during the conversations, called me usually outside of working hours, which had led me to think that this was an extra job for her, that she was doing this because she is forced, unable to make ends meet. Life is not easy even in the capital, from which phone numbers she usually called me. So I began to treat her with understanding. But she kept calling despite my refusals. After all, I'm not interested in "medical devices for old people." This woman never understood that and continued to call.

And only now, a few days ago, after so much time, they announced on the news that Yana is a bot. She had the imprudence to call a lawyer, a public and political figure who took legal action to be compensated for his lost time and being forced to speak to a bot impersonating a human.

I recently wrote in a comment that I look forward to AI replacing even doctors, and certainly in some situations it will do better with the growing incompetence among Bulgarian doctors, but actually you know how I feel about AI in general.
And yet, I fell into the AI trap in such a brutal way that I even felt sorry for this bot, I put myself in her shoes, I said to myself - the poor woman forced to do this shit job because she obviously can't make ends meet, well I'm in the same situation as her (only I don't do a shit job). And she's clearly doing better than me in life since she still works and I don't. Lol I'm going to burst out laughing. 🤣🤣🤣 Although it's not funny at all.

And in between those calls, I got a few from real people, or so I hoped. I got calls from the same recruitment agency that I once sent my CV to.
The fact that they keep calling me means that they are still doing some work, as I have long begun to suspect that the recruitment agencies in Bulgaria are not doing any work at all, although it is this one that has disappointed me in recent years not once. Still, I'm grateful to them for continuing to call me even though they don't have much to offer me. It's always the same thing that goes along with contractual terms unfavorable to the employee. Only the pay varies.

So yesterday I got another call about some call center - service in English and German, working in shifts from 7-8 a.m. to midnight, "no night shifts" as they call it, lol.😆 Customer service for a company that is no longer famous for offering very good service, which means a lot of unhappy and frustrated customers whose problems I will have to deal with on a minute-to-minute basis.
Maybe I won't be able to go to the bathroom again or to have a lunch break like it was at my last job. I'll be tied to a conveyor belt of phone, chat and email that I won't be able to get off of. I will fill my head with tons of new information that I will have to learn by heart, get used to the work process, learn it, and then I will be fired for saying one wrong word of criticism to the company or colleagues, giving some unsolicited advice to improve the quality of the work or I will ruin my health again, as it was in my previous job, because in such workplaces it is hell and only those who have been there know that. The pay here is not particularly brutally low, it's good for a remote position, but everything has a price, and I'm already sick, and if I accept such an offer, it means signing my death warrant, literally.

That's it. I think my partner was a bit disappointed by my immediate refusal. I was also disappointed in myself. Two reasons for disappointment - phone calls from bots and from humans, lol.

Thank you for your time! Copyright:@soulsdetour
steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

I like the last two the most. The world would be a better place if we really used our abilities in the right fields, with the desire, enthusiasm and commitment that everyone should have when doing an activity, not just to pass the time, to get some salary there, so as not to die from hunger, resulting in poor quality work done, dissatisfied service recipients, etc. in this closed circle of shoddy work and disaffected people.

There's a longshoremen strike starting. All seems more fun each and every day! Oh, apparently the strike was ended with a 62% wage raise moments ago

Well, as I've said before, I'm leaving the US as the last possible place to anchor, after another attempt to settle somewhere in Western Europe. Not because of anything else, but because it's so far and so big it's scary, and I need funds to go there, etc. But only people who have lived through the misery of communist and post-communist countries, which for 35 years cannot cope with the crisis of democracy can appreciate things that local Americans often cannot. To go out to protest at all, and to have your salary increased by 62% is something unattainable and unimaginable like space for a declined country like this one here.
P.S. I'm just furious because I haven't been able to shower for several days and the water crisis continues.😅

Yeah well, I have pictures of how we get our water and it's not raining here either.
