A day at the mineral water spa complex of Starosel

in #travel2 years ago (edited)

I was satisfied with our visit to the complex of wine and spa tourism in Starosel.

I've already told you how I think my criteria last year were extremely lowered.

Last year we happened to visit a mineral water pool several times, which I would not have visited this year. This pool at a famous mineral spa resort was not quite hygienic. Besides, the people around... There were almost no people who could speak Bulgarian and that made me feel quite strange. And insecure.

Here, in Starosel, there were foreigners too, but they were other type of foreigners. There were Americans, some Scandinavian guys and so on.

Everything was quite decent, calm and pleasant. There were no surprises, no unpleasant moments. Everything was relaxing. As befits a Spa complex, right?

Here I show you the indoor pool with mineral water.
This is a building that impressed me a lot. And how not? See this bar at the end of it!
With bar stools under the water.

Such a pity the bar wasn't open.

IMG_20220808_125029~2.jpg

Still, I could sit on them regardless.

I am impressed by the overall construction and design of the entire building. By the fact that it resembles both Roman baths and something like a cave.

See what even the shower looks like:

And the ceiling...

IMG_20220808_125059~2.jpg

I found that when you swim on your back, you can watch more than just the sky with the clouds.

IMG_20220808_125103~2.jpg

Looking in a certain direction, you can also see your own reflection up there, along with the reflection of all that soothing, crystal blue water surface.

IMG_20220808_125352~2.jpg

You also know what happens when you lie on your back and dip your head in the water just enough to hide your ears. Then the noises around are muted more or less and you can more or less ignore the presence of other people or the reality around you in general.

I'm actually not quite aware of what modern spa pools look like.

Maybe it's just a simple modern spa pool.

IMG_20220808_125113~2.jpg
(that's the smaller pool with warmer mineral water, which is not suitable for swimming)

IMG_20220808_125117~3.jpg

I actually rarely visit pools. And this is extremely strange for someone like me who literally grew up in water/in a river and never imagined that I would ever stop swimming or just standing in the water because I need to stand in it.

But you already know how things change constantly in life. And even if some things once seemed unthinkable, then they become everyday and everything is forgotten.

IMG_20220808_125135~2.jpg

Well let's go back to the current place.

IMG_20220808_125145~2.jpg
(This is the place for the jacuzzis)

It is located outside the settlement, as a wine cellar should be, in fact.

Actually, one of the spa treatments offered here is a grape bath followed by a grape skin and seed scrub. Unfortunately, however, all the treatments offered here are not suitable for my delicate skin, so I concentrated in the pool and stayed there.

But even the very way we got to this place was very interesting. We passed through huge, rich and well-built villages, in which I saw huge Catholic churches. This sight is absolutely unusual in this country, so I have marked this part of the country for a second visit.

So the trip to here and the visit of the place was worth it in every way.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

Looks like a very nice place to be.
How would you describe the acoustic balance inside?

Ha ha, I think everything was normal inside. It didn't make any particular impression on me. So I think everything was fine. Also, the visitors were well-mannered and didn't make much noise to make an impression.
