But the main message was directed to laid back, non-challant people. This song advises you to take control and "buy" your life instead of just "renting" it and living someone else's life. It advises you to make your life "home", create it into what you want it to be, take that long walk on the beach in Miami, save enough money and travel the world, get your dream job, buy your dream car/house, complete school, get married. In essence the song screams "buy your life and don't just rent it, take charge, change situations you do not desire, build the memories you want to have"
