Walking the banks and coves of Rocky Mountain Public Fishing Area

My friend and I spent the day near Rome Georgia hunting for ducks and other migratory waterfowl. We used our recurve bows and walked along the bank shown in the beginning of the video. We hear many calls and see some ducks off in the distance. But did not get close to any in this area of the public fishing area. So this video turned into a nature walk, no luck this time hitting anything. It was just us there, no one was seen for hours. And I really enjoyed the peace of the area and how quiet it could be.

I brought along my full spectrum camera, and set it up for some videos and photos along the way. I mixed the scenes into this video, which is mostly Actioncam footage from my SJCAM 5000X. Unfortunately the Actioncam started having major stabilization issues half way through the trip. And alot of the footage was cut out to how choppy it appeared. So some scenes may be short or cut out, so I decided to include my infrared and ultraviolet scenes throughout this video. Usually I would make two videos or more but due to my Actioncam messing up and then the drizzle and rain I was unable to record much more into the day. As we spent another four hours or so after the video ended. I updated my Actioncams firmware so hoping the issue wont come back with its gyro.

I use my Infrared passthrough filters some of the videos, and my UV Black filter in the others. So you will notice a color change through the cut scenes when Im using my other camera.

We really enjoyed our time at the PFA, I love how secluded it is. We drove from section to section, parking and then walking for many miles. There was a lot of wildlife there but they were aware that we are hunters and kept their distance. In another area of the public fishing area we got within twenty to thirty feet of a few ducks. But we were being too loud checking out a cabin that collapsed when they took off and quacked our presence to other ducks in the area.

I take pictures with a special camera. Its a Mirrorless DSLR that has been modified by Life Pixel to see light in other wavelengths. This allows my camera to see light in the Infrared [IR] around 1300 NM wavelength, through the visual spectrum and into the Ultraviolet A and B wavelengths roughly into the 300 NM wavelength.

I carry many filters on me to make the photos you see in my blog, these filters screw on my lens and help me isolate certain wavelengths for certain scenes. These filters can be IR / UV pass-through filters to assist me get a natural photo taking out the UV and IR light. Or I may use a Infrared pass-through filter capture just IR light. I can do the same with IR light as well, though I need some better filters which they can cost a few hundred dollars for true Ultraviolet pass through filters. So for right now I have B + W 403 bandpass filters that still allow some IR light in, due to their cheaper material.

There are also exotic glasses made of sapphire and germanium I am open to working with to replace my silica glass hot mirror with a material that allows even longer wavelengths of infrared to enter my cameras sensor. Special sensors, lenses and filters of that material would be needed as well, so it would be a big project but one that may give some even more unique photography results.
