Campus Connect Engagement Contest Week 2 - My Accomplishment And Failures so far in the First Half of 2022 And my Expectation For The Second Half - By @solexybaba

Hello to everyone here in this great community known as Campus Connect I welcome you all to this great community alongside a wonderful contest before us all. I will like to start by saying a big thank you to this community for the encouragement it offers to its subscribers also the unrelenting support from this community has given me hope that indeed this community will always look out for its subscribers. Today I will be dropping my contest regarding the topic that has been brought forward by this community engagement contest team tagged my accomplishment and failures so far in the first half of 2022 and my expectation for the second half. so I urge you all to relax as I drop my entry.

It is quite very okay to know the things you have achieved and also to know your failures, this is to prepare you for the task ahead. knowing your achievements will give you an accolade and encouragement to furthermore and be a goal getter, it makes you strive more for success while your failures help you to re-strategize and look for another alternative, and it will as well help you to come out with a better plan and as such one will learn from his mistakes and tend to move on in a new direction. so I will be starting with my accomplishments.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENT SO FAR

I have been a student since 2018 and as such, I was working for a man as a sales boy then. we sell bags, boxes, conference bags, and all kinds of bags that you can think about. as of last year, I was still serving my boss and as such, I was doing his biddings. it was telling on me as I have to combine school and work in other to make a meaningful life for myself, and as a student who looks out for himself, I have to work to take care of my tuition fee and my upkeeping. it was so tough, I often leave my workplace to school and then return after lectures. sometimes I do not get to go to classes because I have to stay back and help my boss in the shop.

It was also telling on my academics, I do not read as much because there is no time for that. imagine coming back from the lecture by 4:pm and then going back and starting helping out in the shop, so basically I do not have time for myself to talk more about picking my books to read because I needed money. but along the line, I got helped by someone. he offered to give me some capital so that I can run my own business since I needed money for my school and other things.

I took the bold step although it was quite risky. I began to think about different things, what if the business doesn't work out? what if I cant do it? what if I do not have the right location for it? all of those were in my head and then I became devastated. but with faith, I accepted the capital. and with all encouragement and my hard work, I managed to begin with a very small quantity.

I got a shop and the capital was small, so I managed to get some goods, and then I began bit by bit. although it wasn't easy going to classes and coming to the store it was far better than that of my boss because now I get to work for myself and as such, I can now go to classes without skipping any of it and my result is well to do now since I now participate and read my books so well.

And the shop that I started with a few capitals is now expanding and growing daily. that is indeed a great accomplishment for me and it was a bold step, although risky but it was worth it. with the experience I got from helping my boss out, I then transferred all the energy to my shop and I am doing just fine.

THE FAILURE I ENCOUNTERED

Well, I wanted to diversify my income as though it is not good for one to put all his eggs in one basket. I began trading early this year without proper knowledge of it. I was trading every time, and at first, luck was on my side as I got to make $5 - $10 both day and night. but then greed came into manifestation, I wanted to go big by making use of $20 on every trade and then without stop loss and take profits which was my biggest mistake but then it was never my fault I was ignorant about the whole thing.

I only hear people saying trading is wonderful and one can easily get rich by trading. it was only the positive side of trading that I was hearing, I never heard about the negative aspect of it for I would have taken much care and caution. but then I began to trade without analyzing the market nor including my stop loss and take profit positions. so little by little, my money in my binance wallet started going down and then one night I decided that either I go big or I go home, I used $150 on that day and then I placed a sell short order, ladies and gents, I am here to tell you that I am home now because the trade went against my order.

So that was my greatest failure in the first half of this year and after learning many things regarding trading in the crypto academy lessons, I said to myself a big sorry. and that was how I realized that I was only ignorant and did not know how to trade. so that was how my account got liquidated. and so far that was my biggest failure and ever since then, I am yet to come back and continue trading.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THE SECOND HALF TO MAKE THINGS WORK WELL?

I do want to succeed in every aspect of my life both in academics and financial aspects. so the things I will do in other to be successful in all areas of my life are as follows.

• Be focused - Although we have friends and some are certainly distractive a lot, I will, first of all, get friends that think positively, and that can encourage me and push me to continue moving forward. so with that, I will be more focused, letting nothing distract me both in my business and my academics. I will try and look for a way to balance things so that I don't rob peter to pay paul. I make sure one does not get all my time alone so that the other does not suffer.

I will try to be more focused than ever because when one is serious with issues of life, that individual tends to make positive results and can not easily be distracted especially when you come from a family where you get no one to stand by you in any situation, life will certainly tell you to be focused in other to be the person you wish to become,

• Cultivate the habit to learn - The reason why I failed in trading was that I was so ignorant that I feel I know what I was doing. I would have continued my trading if I had listened and paid attention. but I already know my flaws and I am cultivating the habit to learn. I equally met a friend @badmus-official who is a good trader, and ever since I met him, he has been doing well in crypto trading.

So I met him and ask for his help, he has been teaching me basic strategies in trading, things to know before trading, and how to analyze a chart. so he has been of help to me. it was from his teachings I realized that I was the cause of the setback that happened to me then when I was trading but now I have cultivated the attitude to learn and I will be coming back in a short while.

• Create online visibility for my business - Another thing I will do for things to work well, especially in my business, I will make sure I create online visibility for my business. my shop is situated in an area where students are seen, and now that we are on strike, I do not often get people to come and patronize me as though it is a student area and since the commencement of the strike, most business owners have closed down their business since there are no people to get those things.

So looking at this critical, it is a problem that demands a solution, and I have come out with a better plan. creating an online page for my business will boost my audience and as such it will reach many individuals. so with that, people who are interested in getting a bag of their choice, on seeing my page, will quickly buzz me up. you see, with that I get to know more people to advertise, my business to and if God so kind it works, they will equally come and patronize me. so this is indeed a good option to make things work so well in this second phase of the year.

CONCLUSION

With all these mentioned, I know I will come back greatly. being a student and also fending for yourself is not so easy. often we get bullied by our coursemates whenever we don't get to do well in our academics and they will all think it is laziness not knowing one has a bigger problem in his before. most students you see out there strive for themselves as though they have no one to pay their tuition fees and all that.

My situation has helped me to not judge anyone at all, everyone wants to succeed, and failing is never an option but there are circumstances that no matter what you do it is inevitable. so we all should learn how to encourage ourselves as though we all know that all fingers are not equal.
