Peter Wright anvil a blacksmith's prize tool B&W pictorial

In 1852, Peter Wright, a blacksmith inventor, created the "Solid Anvil" which he forged in one piece. A task which prior to Peter's inventive ways was built up with various layers welded together. Apart from forging anvils, Peter Wright also invented the Parallel Vice in 1862 and also improved the railway wheel.

Peter Wright passed on the 28th August 1874 at 72 years old. His anvils are a sought after collectible and cherished tool used today by blacksmiths globally. DSC_1410.jpgDSC_1366.jpgDSC_1368.jpg
