New Steemit Account Creations are Accelerating Again!
Good News: There is a surge in new Steemit accounts!
A few days ago, I reported that the new Steemit accounts creations have dropped and signaled a serious problem. The new Steemit accounts must be manually approved to prevent bots from creating new accounts. This has been a problem with Steemit as new accounts come with some seed money and pre loaded with delegation. I am concerned that the Steemit staff would not be able to keep up with the amount of new users signing on every day. The Steemit staff is working on automating the process and promised to roll out an expedited automated approval process in a couple weeks. It seemed like the Steemit staff had neglected to perform the manual approval process for the last couple weeks. I have a friend that waited 16 days for his account to be approved. In the last 24 hours, both @penguinpablo and @arcange both reported a spike in new Steemit account creations. This is great news. Either the Steemit staff has added manpower to the effort of manually approving new accounts, or the new Steemit account creation automation system has started.

It could also be that there was a backlog of accounts waiting on approval, and that entire list was cleared yesterday in one go.
You could be totally correct. I appears that is the case when there was occasional spikes. We will have to see in the next few days if it starts to level out.
Now we just need daily average users to break through 60k and rise to 100k+. DAUs is one of the most important metrics in pre-revenue companies in Wall Street.
I agree. DAU, MAU, and internet traffic ranking are key metrics. I think when Steemit hits 100 DAU, then we will start seeing news articles and charts about Steemit.
I think a really good mobile app is going to be a requirement for that.
Very interesting post this is definitely a problem steemit needs to tackle be for they try to take on facebook!
I'm guessing that monthly active users (MAU) needs to be 10X what it is today to compete with Instagram. Facebook is yet another significant leap in users. Steemit needs to make the sign-up process as seamless as possible to bring in huge numbers.
I'd be interested to know if Facebook signups are rising. I'm off of Facebook, and I know a lot of other people who got fed up with it, too. I'm used to living in a subset of society and not really having a firm grasp on what the masses are into though. ha.
For any social media platform, people will give up and stop using. Some people are not around anymore. The MAU is a really good gauge for usage and I've read that Facebook's MAU has dropped.

17,795 account was approved yesterday, well I could see future with steemit, the issues is that during process of registration new comers were stuck down that prevent many people come en mass here .... I hope this continue but we see in couples of days how it goes...
