So I was inside my dad's car today and we heard a sharp sound, and he said "my shaft is becoming faulty" am a girl and I don't know what that means, can you illustrate in a lay man's way @socky?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
When a guy says that his shaft is becoming faulty, it usually doesn't make a sound. Since this was a conversation between a father and a daughter, normally I wouldn't go near this discussion with a 10 foot pole. However, I have had some time to think long and hard about it and maybe I'm taking this out of context....
If it is truly a part of the car that we are talking about, then the "shaft" would be the driveshaft that transfers power from the engine and the axle. If it is making noise, there is something serious wrong with it that needs to be addressed. U-joints, carrier bearing, or loose bolts could leave you stranded or cause damage to the car. It is time to get it fixed.
