Mapping out your Social Media
Today's tips are on how to map out your posting to social media, I am keeping this very simple so that anyone with little or no knowledge of social media can do this. Consider this the foundation stones on which to build your social media posting and hopefully it will help you get started.
Before we delve into planning your posts, it is important to understand a couple of key factors about Facebook and other social media networks. If you publish the same old thing time and time again, people are going to get bored, start ignoring your posts and even stop following you, so it is important to mix things up. Another key factor and this especially relates to Facebook, if you post link after link after link, Facebook will consider your page as 'Spammy' and this will have a negative effect on you turning up in their search results.
So enough on that, here is what I recommend to do....
7 Day Planner
What I suggest is using 7 days (a week.) and map out your posts. Firstly decide what day your week starts then plan from there, at the end of the week, move post one to post seven and move the rest forward, that way you are not publishing the same type of post on the same day of the week. This works especially well if you are using a 'Day of The Week' post
So here is a typical layout, of course, change to suit your own business and your own promotion, but do avoid too many external links going out on posts.
DAY 1 Inspirational quote of the day photograph.
DAY 2Promotional post about your product, business or service. (LINK)
DAY 3 Interesting news based on your business sector.
DAY 4 Day of The Week Photograph - IE 'Keep Calm it's Wednesday etc.
DAY 5 Promotional post about your product, business or service.
DAY 6 Engaging post asking questions or explaining your products/business/services. (LINK)
DAY 7 Inspirational quote, funny photo or inspiring photo.
As you can see there are 2 external links, out of 7 and I recommend not going above this, any more can have an impact on the social media search algorithms.
Of course, you can plan further ahead, possibly 10, 20 or 30 posts mapped out, for some clients, I even schedule up to 150 posts ahead, as well as do additional posts on top of these. (Dependent on the number of fans, the number of services the company offers and other factors.)
By planning ahead and mapping out your social media, it not only gives you a strategy, but also a direction that when it comes to producing the posts, you will find that you won't be too stuck for ideas and you will be able to write and schedule the posts quicker.

Yes, it is important to get them to follow you in the first place, but more importantly, to keep them ;)
Fixed the grammar error, thank you for the heads up... And I have even done 350 prescheduled before (Tweets.) That is the maximum my software allows and those were 10 tweets per day for 35 days.
Again! Wow! A lot of famous people will get in a lot less trouble if they would learn a bit from you and plan there tweets a bit...! 😉

any automation software to suggest?
I use Hootsuite, this allows me to schedule up to 350 posts per network (For the paid version). Post to Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Linkedin and Instagram.

You can use it for free, but it is worth paying the $11.99 a month for the first upgrade, as it does allow the bulk scheduling, they also have a fantastic support and training network too. Well worth the money.
