COLOR MIXING WORKSHOP' BEYOUND THE PIPING LIFE-LIKE FLOWERS TECHNIQUE!
A few weeks ago I had chance to attend this amazing workshop where I learned to create floral buttercream cupcakes!
Up on an arrival they prepared a set of equipment and ingredients needed for the workshop along with a color scheme chart:
The workshop taught me the skills and techniques of blending colors to create a palette of beautiful pigments for piping floral buttercream designs. The showed me how to pipe 4 different type of life-like buttercream flowers: Roses, Lisianthus, Peonies and Anemonies.
First, color blending! Food coloring and chilled buttercream..
Once we get the desired color for flowers and leaves, we put the buttercream in the plastic bag..
And then, let's pipe!
I know it doesn't look easy at all and it wasn't easy in any way! I loved using darker colors for my flowers but the food coloring in a big amount warmed the buttercream up and made it even harder to pipe. I couldn't get the colors right but I was quite happy with my cuppies though!
The first type of flower was Anemone
Then comes the Rose .. an ugly one ..
And then another ugly bunch of Lisianthus
Last but not least, my masterpiece; Penoies which I also implemented color blending technique and they turned out pretty!
Done! They all look quite pleasant together in a box and I felt it was a very well spent Sunday in a long while for me.
So that was my one fine Sunday, I hope you like the cuppies and thank you for reading up my story :)
Much Love,
Annie xo
