Wife Material: What Do We Mean?

To be a woman is not easy! I cannot imagine myself being a woman! Not because it is not a good thing but i cannot near what those beautiful creatures go through!

It is true that women are the salt of life. Without women, the world would be boring i must admit. If we think about what they do for us as guys, we will realize that it is likely our world crumbles if they turn their backs on us.

I was reflecting on how my mom has been very brave to be both father and mother. It is not an easy task i must say. Women have this protective nature and they are very courageous. 

If you have a woman that loves you dearly, then keep her like your heart because if she goes, your world may crumble.

As guys, when we find a good woman, we tend to build our world around her. We start seeing each other as one and start planning together. Relationship is beautiful from distance but when we start being intimate, we start noticing one of two flaws. When we ought to realize that we have different natures and were brought up by different parents, we tend to start acting funny and expect the woman to be perfect.

As guys, we often shout: she is not a wife material! What do we mean by wife material? If it were to be someone that is loving, affectionate, passionate, caring, etc., then it would be good. But we look beyond all that. In fact, they do not matter to us. What we in most cases referred to as wife material is a woman that can cook, wash clothes, plates, sweep the room and take care of the home. 

Some how, we are not looking for a wife but a 'slave'! I still wonder when all these house chores become the sole duty of a woman that once any woman lacks any of these supposed 'materials', she is not considered 'wifey'. Perhaps, this is a problem only to the Africans. Am yet to hear similar things among the Westerners. Could it be that since we are Africans, we believe we are superior to women and as such, they must do our bidding? 

Many men these days go into marriage not really because of love and to procreate but simply because they need a 'helper'. Helper in this sense means someone who will even take them to bathroom to bath for them. So when a woman does not show any of the things they consider 'wife material', then they look for the exit route to quit the relationship.

Love, i think, should be the foundation of every relationship. This love should conquer all shortcomings. If we truly love each other, we should be ready to accept our flaws and work on them.

No woman is a slave and they were not created to serve a man but to help him in the true sense of the word help. Instead of expecting much from them, why don't we give them much too and live a life where we are both important.
