Every year a person leaves 17.3 kilograms of electronic waste every year. Only 6 percent of this is deposited. In Europe, about 35 percent of all electronic waste is collected.

Electronic waste includes old battery cells, CFL bulbs, mobile phones, CD players, CDs, old machines and TVs and computers. Disintegration of the ground and exposure to water leads to chemical reactions and many toxic substances dissolve in the environment.
