I understand that weddings are a stressful time for everyone! I am glad you survived it. :)
I hope you stay safe, I am in the middle of the country, so we only get rain from a Hurricane and usually a week later.

If it's just rain ... it's really good..
We are several thousand miles from the ocean. It buffers the impact a lot. We can have our own storms here, that are as severe as a hurricane, but do not last as long. Here they are called tornadoes, and winds can top 200 MPH, but the storms only last for hours.
:'(in Europe we do not know such violent tornadoes and storms yet .... other natural catastrophes Earthquakes and floods ... that's something we have a lot in Europe too.
From America I know personally only Miami, Everglades and Key West ... I was twice on vacation .... I liked it very much
The Atlantic pretty much controls the weather in Florida, it is flat and close to the ocean.
Here our weather is caused by storm fronts colliding where we live. This collision and mixing of different temperatures; causes these storms to form. We have some trouble with flooding, and small earthquakes are common due to all the oil well drilling, but nothing major.
:DI currently have visit from Illinois ... I have relatives and friends in America ...but I do not like the long flight times 😏

Well avoid the middle of the country during storm season, ROFLOL! Visit north in the summer, and south if you come in the winter. There is a lot to see, so it depends on what you are looking for.
:OImpressive was the airboat tour through the Everglades ... the mangrove trees ... I could see different birds, alligators, raccoons and even a Florida Puma ...I watched little baby alligators as they slipped out of the egg and I even had a bigger baby alligator in my arms.... by the Miccosukee Indians Village... that was an unforgettable experience 🐊🌞🌳🤩

The Muskogee were moved to Oklahoma. There is a town 45 miles from here, that is Named Muskogee Oklahoma, and was the center of the tribe here. There is a Museum there that used to be their central Government building.
The everglades is a special place. They are having trouble right now with snakes (anaconda, python etc) that people released there when they got to big to handle. I would love to play on an air boat myself.
