CAMIGUIN ISLAND, PHILIPPINES
Hello Guys!
How's everyone doing?
My team and I went to a 3days and 2 nights trip in Camiguin. It is the second smallest province in the Philippines both population and land area. The home for Sweet Lanzones Fruit.
Camiguin is full with Natural Wonders A Small Island Province with so much beauty to offer.
Day 1.
We flew to Camiguin from Cebu via Cebu Pacific Airlines.
Our 1st stop:
The White Island is generally horseshoe shaped, although the tides constantly resize and reshape its exact form and uninhabited white sandbar located about 1.4 kilometres off the northern shore of Mambajao in the volcanic island of Camiguin
The side of the island facing camiguin is compose with broken shells and corals.
While the center part and sidrefacing the open sea is compose with powdery white sand.
It rain a little bit when we went to White Island and after a few minutes the sky turn bright. It's just a 5 minutes boat ride from mainland camiguin going to this sandbar.
-There Are Fisher men selling fresh Sea Urchin for snacks
When Mount Hibok Hibok erupted it cause damage to the island of camiguin and sunk this part of the island making the cementery submerged in water.
So We Ride a bangka to reach the cross flat form the bangkeros who manages the bangka just manuever the bangka by pulling the rope since it cannot be cross using a paddle because of the current runs sideways.
We Reached the cross flat form and took fun memories
You can see Mount Hibok Hibok from the Cross Flat Form
3rd Stop - Sto Niño Cold Spring
The spring water that comes out from the grounds here is crystal clear and only about 20°C. Crystal Clear Fresh Water.
This pool starts at 4ft and the deepest part the opposite side is 8ft deep and perfect for a freshing swim with our Hot Sun Kissed Skin burnt from the amazing sun beach activities.
That ends our Day 1 Camiguin Trip
Our 2nd Day Activities
1st Stop Katibawasan Falls
The waterfall measures 250 ft High and is located at the foot of Mt. Timpoong.
The pool part of the waterfall is not so deep except the part where the water drops. The bottom part is sandy with smooth big rocks.
2nd Stop - Mantigue Island
It's a small white island about 3.5 kilometers away from mainland Camiguin.
The island is facing the best beauty of Camiguin
Clear Crystal Water perfect for you snorkelling and diving activites. Or just simply chill out on a small food place situated in the 4.4 hectare island.
Just make sure not to get too expose in the sun and be prepared with your sun blocks and water for hydration. When the sun is at it's peak the Island gets too hot and bright so don't for get your sun glasses.
And for our snacks! Grilled Banana with Margarine and sprinkled with sugar called GinangGang.
3rd Stop Ardent Hot Spring
The Spring water comes right out of the forest with a temperature of just above 40°C. It is then mixed with some colder water and guided into 4 seperate pools which are arranged in cascades
Mount Hibok Hibok supplies the hot clear crystal water
That ends our trip to Camiguin. The whole island itself can be toured in just one full day but my friends and I decided not to do it in 1 day because we want to spend longer time in every destination to savour the moment and make fun memories together.
Accommodation and Transport Services:
We booked at Teddy Pabuluan Cottages and Tours.
I can still remember way back in 2013 Sir ted used to have only 1 multicab services and a room for rent good for 4 people. Now his business expanded and has now 2 branches for accommodation rentals and several multicabs for tours. Sir ted the owner used to drive and do the tour now he only manages his business.
We rented a small apartment type house with 2 aircondition rooms, a living room, dinning are and a kitchen.
The house cost Php 2500/$50 per night good for 10 people and additional Php100/$2 per head for additional persons.
You can cook and is equip with kitchen utensils.
Our ride
Multicab a perfect vehicle to tour around the beautiful camiguin for only Php 1700/$34 a day with driver as your tour guide.
So everyone curious how we manage to feed ourselves? We'll skip cooking for our meals but instead we ate at the local barbecue stations and Karenderi! "FILIPINO LOCAL FOOD HOUSE". For a Minimum of $1/Php50 per head you can already get a decent meal.
Not only we saved ourselves from the task of who's gonna wash the dishes but It gives us the opportunity to taste how the local cook their foods.
I hope you guys enjoyed what I shared. I got burned but take home beautiful and fun memories in Camiguin
