In the same breath, we've retired our promotion services, which means we've completely switched to the #NewSteem mode!
Smartsteem Open Beta
We've completely rewritten everything from scratch with a focus on making it as sexy and smooth to use as possible, mixed in some magic sauce and launched the first minimal viable version for open beta. This includes our first initial 3 Steem apps.
We'll go more in detail about each of them very soon, but here's a quick overview:

Our vision is to implement multiple ways to earn SmartPoints, our own system to make the most out of smartsteem.

Would you like to bring your curation experience to the next level? Don't worry, we've got you covered with Streem!
And do you know the best thing? You're able to decide whether you'd like to automate it or confirm everything manually. Woah!

We're starting simple with our robot: claiming of rewards. But don't look away too long, he's a fast learner!
Open Beta Info
We're starting this beta out with some requirements.
In order for you to use the apps (except Earn), you need to have at least 500 effective Steempower (incl delegated Steempower) or 25 SmartPoints.
This is most likely subject to change, in both directions

Nice tool, would be prefer the option to toggle to a light theme instead of the dark layout :-)
We understand and appreciate your feedback. For now, we'll stick with the dark-theme for aesthetic purposes as yellow/gold isn't looking good in a light theme.
You removed the only thing your service was good for. Now I have no reason to use your service. The point of vote selling was that I did not have to delegate power to you and lose that power for a period of time if I chose to un-delegate. I also don't want to earn your shitty tokens with it either, I want to be paid in STEEM/SBD.
I think you could have adjusted for the new model and still done vote selling, but you probably were more worried about a model that would profit yourselves more and would be easier. Pretty fucking pathetic tbh. A poor way to have adjusted to the climate imo. Not only are you reaping the curation rewards with us having delegated to your shitty service, you aren't going to pay us the entirety of what our vote is worth to begin with.
Pretty sad day to log back in after all the chaos and see one of my (old) favorite services go to such a shitty model. Anyone who's impressed by this or given "positive feedback" like you claim, is simply a fucking idiot who doesn't realize you've given them a big fat L with your garbage, pathetic, new model.
Severely disappointed to have come back to something like this. I expected more care for the users tbh. I guess listening to actual people instead of claiming you've gotten all this great feedback (Which is bullshit, you've not gotten anywhere near the feedback you claim, from actual people other than your own circle.), was too much work for you to handle. Sad.

thats great .. thx for the reply and support. I guess the challenge for most projects which creates their own tokens are how to bring value to the token. looking forward in seeing more details on how you would do it with Smartpoints. I've got an idea which I hope you could possibly consider.
Smartpoints can be used just like what SPS is like however for smaller scaled funds like if I wanted to run a meetup .. I would raise a proposal and people who have been staking Smartpoints are able to vote on that proposal. Those who has gardner enough votes on their proposal would be able to receive upvotes on their post for X number of weeks or duration based on their little "project".
You are then empowering individuals / community members to be able to know that Smartsteem is supporting smaller smaller scale projects / meetups / initiatives .
That's just an idea ... cheers and looking forward in more things to come from your end.

At first glance this looks similar to steem auto. The follow tabs are just for my account to follow other accounts?What's the value add for smart points then? Is it related to the curate tab? You are just executing my own autovote faster because I own more smartpoints? So in short, you are seeking a delegation to perform manual curation and are rewarding people by performing preferential automated curation for them? Can you clarify?

cool update, but I have a question: so the smartpoints give an advantage over other users who also use smartsteem? If that's the case, it's not so useful as there are lots of other ways to automatically vote. Also 5000 SP is quite a hurdle, giving the edge to whales...
That's the first use-case. Our focus was on launching the platform in order to retire our promotion services. More use-cases to come.

We're curating content. The first goal was to publish the open beta to get feedback and to retire our promotion services, which were harming #NewSteem ambitions. Next up: more apps and the improvement of our curation initiative.

My current situation: I have 30000 SP. If I delegate 5000 SP, I lose curation rewards, but gain 'Smart Points.' These Smart Points position my vote before other votes in a trail? If my vote is positioned before other votes, but I'm down 5000 SP, I fail to see how that positioning would give me equal to or more curation reward compared to if I simply kept my 30000 SP and voted on my own.
Are the curation rewards Smart Steem earns through these delegations split between those who've delegated?
No, due to the 13 weeks power-down period. That's why we decided to use SmartPoints. Keep in mind that the main goal we had was to provide a useful platform for Steem. Earning Steem via delegations for SmartPoints wasn't our main goal, it's rather a positive side effect.
There's no guarantee that you will make more curation rewards, compared to voting without SmartPoints. It's also important to note that we can only take care of how fast the votes go out from our end, not how long it takes for the RPC nodes to process them. This can result in a partly randomized order.
However, let's say you delegate 5000 SP for 1 month (+5 days CD), you'd earn 150 SmartPoints, more than the majority of the users.
Last but not least, our goal is to provide more utilities for SmartPoints than just preferred voting. This is simply the first feature we implemented. So please don't judge SmartPoints too quickly, as they haven't nearly reached their final usability.

Your goals were misplaced. No one wanted you to convert your service into a "platform for steem." We came to you to sell our votes, whether by delegation or vote-selling. You're attempting to get into a game that no one truly cares to have you in. Your userbase was only there because of your services provided prior to the new HF. Majority of us WILL NOT use your services for daily/day-to-day STEEM usage. We already have plenty of front-ends with plenty of capability for that. We don't need another token either. There are plenty. We only used your service as a way to make use of our extra power to gain STEEM/SBD, not tokens of some sort.
You've alienated the userbase like myself because you are changing the entire point of why people like me ever used your service to begin with. You are not going to gain me as a user to just another front-end service with "cool different tools/functionalities!" it's just fucking stupid. I don't want your service as such. It was meant to be used as a tool for profiting on otherwise lost power, to people like me. Going in this direction you are currently going, is going to make people like me not use your service AT ALL, as opposed to using it as we used to (before you fucked it up with all this stupid bullshit.) do before the HF.
You won't listen to this though and you'll blindly and arrogantly proceed forward with your stupid idea. At this point it's clear that your userbase means very little to you. The rate you've been losing users isn't apparent to you because you don't seem to understand that people like me (With this exception, because I cared a little more, having used your service before and loved it...) won't even bother to leave negative feedback to let you know you're fucking shit up. They'll just leave. That's why you think you're doing "So well" and have such "great feedback." It's all bullshit. Unbalanced, biased, bullshit. You can't see criticisms that don't exist and to assume your userbase is happy, while losing a vast majority of them, is pure ignorance.

Are Smart Points balances Public? I'd like to know how many Smart Points all members have before I invest so I can know if I have a chance to get a good voting position or if I will just always be behind chasing a carrot since many members have already been loading up on Smart Points.
