I failed.

in #money6 years ago (edited)

I started tracking my income and expenses since the start of the year. And this is my actual income and expenses from Jan 1 up to date.

INCOME FROM JANUARY 1, 2018 UP TO DATE

EXPENSES FROM JANUARY 1, 2018 UP TO DATE.

Na realize ko lang na ang laki pala ng gastos ko for Emergencies this year. And I think I wouldn't be able to fund those without having any sidelines (blogging, loading business, freelance writing gig, rice business).

So sa lahat ng naging customers ko, sa naging client ko sa freelance writing, and sa Steemit, I want to thank you all :)

This year, I feel like I failed on reaching my target savings and target investments, but I promise to do better next year. At least, alam ko kung saan napunta ang perang pinaghirapan ko :)

Since I downloaded the MONEY MANAGER APP (yung color red na piggy bank logo), I became more sensitive of my finances. Naging habit ko na ang mag input ng daily income and expenses ko. Kahit piso na candy documented yan!

Kaya alam ko if I have reached my target budget or if I have overspent for that day/week/month.

I am encouraging you to do the same thing as well so that you can assess your current financial standing and will never wonder where did your money go.

I don't want to sugarcoat my financial life. I want to show you the reality. Just because I advocate financial literacy, doesn't mean I don't make financial mistakes. I do. All the time. But I always make sure to look for ways on how to improve my personal finances.

These past few months, my financial life just badly blew up. Two consecutive deaths of our family members plus the health issues of my father and sis have taken toll over us, over me. Right now, we are all in the recovery phase. Mentally, emotionally, financially.

Still, I am thanking God for giving me the capacity to earn. For my family. For myself. For my future.

I hope this will leave you a lesson not to dwell too much on your financial mishaps. Wealth-building is a lifelong process. We will only get to enjoy the fruits of it if we learn how to bend, how to get up, and how to constantly improve.
