Ensures that Telegram will launch its own cryptocurrency
Anton Rozenberg, former telegram manager, says the new feature will allow users to make money transfers more freely.
The instant messaging service Telegram, WhatsApp's main rival, plans to launch its own cryptocurrency platform based on blockchain technology, revealed a former employee of the company in a social network.
Anton Rozenberg published on his Facebook what looks like a promotional video of this new platform, which will be known as TON, either by taking the name of The Open Network or Telegram Open Network.
The cryptocurrency of Telegram itself will be known as Gram and may be used for transactions within the application, which has 180 million users in the world. Although the Cointelegraph portal points out that it can also be used in the most popular messaging services, without having specified any.
This platform, similar to bitcoin, will allow transferring money through the application and, according to Anton Rozenberg, will avoid government control over citizens and their money through transfers.
