A Pioneer of Abstract Painting in Korea, Lee kyusang
One of the most important thing for me in this exhibition was finding out a painter Lee Kyusang. He was a pioneer of abstract in Korean painting. He had lived during1918-1967. My colleague introduced his life. According to her explanation, he had suffered the poverty while he was living.
His paintings were so impressive, how he absorbed this avant-garde movement.
His paintings were completely abstract.
It was interesting there was one colleague who was studied under Lee Kyusang. My colleague told he was a painting teacher in his high school.
I heard he became professor in the university. He had had good job. How come he had suffered the poverty in his life ?.
His paintings were so nice. I’d like to introduce his paintings as below.

I think he meant a lot than what we saw by those artworks! Some of them looks like a design, but when I go through them I see human face / pain and so on there! I don't know whether I am correct or wrong! But I can feel those designs meant a lot than what we see at the surface! Great photography of them and thank you for sharing these wonderful experiences with the story as well!

His paintings are amazing, but how he suffered from poverty is Still a mystery because I think for a person of that Calibre he could've had all the money he wanted. It's honestly beautiful pictures taken by you, I love the shots
@slowwalker, Thanks for introduce Lee kyusang's character and how was he lived under the poverty. His paintings different looks and impressive to see. But I can't take idea of meaning them. However you captured some paintings nicely.
Tbh it's really sad to know how he suffered in his life despite he had so much talent and he have given this much to his artwork. While his artworks are here and will sure be an inspiration to others indeed.

Interesting, I believe in many countries it was a time of abstract and Impressionism which is also sometimes associates with Avant-garde movement too. There is something unusual that attract people, I believe because different people see different things in such paintings. Thank you for sharing the information about Lee Kyusang
