At expiration if shares are above $44: put sellers will keep the $0.92 for a 19.6% annualized return.

At expiration if shares are below $44: put sellers will buy shares at about 3% discount to recent trading prices including the premium payment.

For protection use a stop loss at $39.50. At this point technical levels will be breached and is best to take a small loss and move on to other ideas.
