Visiting The Renwick Gallery - The Art Of Burning Man
Burning Man is an annual event in the Black Rock Desert. More than 70,000 people attend each summer. During the week long event wild and giant art constructions are erected. Many are then burned to the ground. Burning Man is a unique cultural movement and a hub for new art. Some of the art from burning man has been brought to the Renwick Gallery at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC. The showing is called “No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man” and admission is free! (unlike the actual festival where tickets cost anywhere from $190 to $1,200)
Michelle and I visited the art showing this weekend. My favorite pieces were the works by Android Jones and the giant mushrooms by the Foldhaus Art Collective. The photography encouraged signs were a nice touch.
Enjoy my pictures!

Those are some incredible pieces you got to observe. Must have made you feel like you were actually at the festival. I may take a trip to DC to check out the museum for myself.
man you went overboard with the pictures this time, but thats a good thing in this case. Thanks for taking the time to share. I have always wanted to attend a burning man. I have quite a few friends who have and say only good things.. Since I live close than most it would be kind of easy. If only tickets werent thousands of dollars lol..
During the Burning Man that usually empty space in Nevada becomes the 10th largest city in nevada. It would be awesome to behold. Like fear and loathing in Las Vegas only the circus circus is outside where the Mint 500 was, and thats also where you sleep, and more drugs not less lol!
Just woooowwww, it was an amazing experience to saw your this post and I'm really amazed by the talent of each and every person of burning man community.
But I wonder today you didn't mentioned that by which camera these brilliant shots are taken???

Wow that's pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing the vibes! I can see why you dig those big mushroom sculptures, they are super cool. The patterns make them almost look like they're moving/growing.
