Shimla Manali Ladakh Road Trip
Best time to go June & July but road remains open till October.
How to go:
Dhaka-Delhi - Flight
Delhi-Kalkatha (Chandigarh) - By taxi or bus (4-5 hours)
Kalkatha - Shimla - By Himalayan Queen toy train (1.5 - 2 hrs)
Shimla - Manali - By bus or taxi (7-8 hours depending upon traffic)
Manali - TSO Moriri (Via Leh Manali Highway & Rothang Pass)
It's a two days journey. We stayed at Sirchu on the first night but I would recommend to stay at Jispa or Keylong for the first night. Rented four wheeler with number plates of Jammu & Kashmir can only take you there. You will have to get permission to enter Ladakh via email with the help of a local agency. It takes 1-2 working days. Better to plan ahead. Stay at TSO Moriri on the second night
TSO Moriri-Pangong TSO
It will take one day. night stay at Pangong. There is a shortcut road there. Don't take it
Pangong to Leh
It will take one more day. You can also check out Hemis monastery, Shey palace & Thiksey Monastery on this road if you have enough time
Cost: its very hard to mark the exact cost as we started from Kolkata and took flights for few stops and also stayed in random places. However, his road trip only should not cost you more than 25k-30k rupees per person including all.
