Empathy Can Be Cancerous

Empathy: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

On Twitter, I was watching some travel guy talking about being scammed on the streets of Hanoi, Vietnam. He was talking about how boys buffering shoes can lead to theft. Then he went on how we should have sympathy for the poor and how we need to be more empathic.

Well, it's hard to have empathy when people are trying to kill you.

Look at what is happening in Europe when Merkel let the Syrian refugees in

Look at Sweden when they let their hearts overpower the need for national security.

Look at what happens when guilt can be used as a weapon.

Finally, look at the people who deserve REAL sympathy are left out to die in the cold.

I am not going to pretend the world is a happy place nor a man-made hell. But I refuse to feel empathy for people who want to screw me over. I have a right to live just like everyone else.
