Ethereum on the Belgian mainstream news: "Forget Bitcoin!"

in #cryptcurrency7 years ago

Forget Bitcoin! Ethereum is on its way to become the new gold.

It is the first time we see a post about another cryptocurrency then Bitcoin in the Belgian mainstream News. It feels a little bit weird! We're used to hear about Bitcoin from time to time as it reaches new all time hights... But another crypto? That's the first time ever!

Some pieces translated out of the article:

At the beginning of the year ethereum had a value of 7.98 USD, past monday the value climbed to 340 USD.
The rising interest comes from the endless possibilities of this blockchain, the technology behind the coin. It's a very advanced and smart accounting register which can do transactions automatic as soon as a certain condition is fulfilled.
With ethereum there is much less human interaction needed. It can even be used for real estate contracts.
Critics warn that a lot of the different blockchain projects are brand new and have not yet much to offer, yet a lot of companies and countries see a lot of opportunities.
Signapore even is thinking about the creation of a virtual state-coin.
Ether has grown to the second biggest cryptocurrency in the world with a total market cap of 36 Billion, while Bitcoin still is number one with 49 Billion, but for how long?

In my opinion, this is a great article, they also added a simple video about how a blockchain works. This article is ready for the "big masses". I'm glad to read an article like this...

How long will it take before steemit will be in the news?

That is strange to see any other crypto get a mention over bitcoin!

Yes it is! And I was even more surprised about the positive way they write about it!

It's definitely good. It's the beginning of the mainstream noticing!
