The Cemetery

I decided to share with you this painting because it holds in it an extremely curious anecdote.
The Gran (Great) Buenos Aires always surprises you when it comes to apocalyptic images, and this cemetery is definitely an example. Crumbling tombs, bones in sight, people staring at those bones in sight, god knows for what purpose. All this in broad daylight.
After we paid our respects and verified that my great grandmother's tomb wasn't vandalized, we went to the exit but, suddenly, everyone felt the need to look back, we had a sensation that someone was watching us: over a perimeter wall we see a black cat, huge, staring at us with defiant look, emitting a sound I've never heard before.
We were surprised, my uncle had the reaction to say the first thing that crossed his mind "That cat eats human flesh". The time went on and this day transformed into an anecdote that was always spinning inside my head.
On 2015, I started drawing again, first simple sketches and slowly getting back to paint to dabble in techniques I didn't know as it was acrylic paint. I bought my first canvas and when I got back home I stopped to observe it for a moment trying to imagine what should I paint in it. My mind automatically went into this memory and that's how this painting became.
Process
Although I painted this waaay before I was familiar with snapping the process to share it, maybe because of the novelty, I took some photos that I rescued from the cloud (Oh mighty cloud!)

This purple is indeed amazing
Interesting story. I like the soft edges and this purple color. For me looks more like a black panther then a cat.
Thank you! Yes, I used as reference a panther, it was closer to my memory than a real cat hahaha.
