BONE TO BE WILD

in #blog8 years ago (edited)

Let’s take a moment to talk jewellery. Some of us love it and others hate it, saying the feeling of something foreign constantly on their body is smothering. I firmly belong in the former group. While Rosie tends to be the smothered type (her daily staple is her Rosalina necklace and that’s about it), I’m rarely ever seen without a ring around my fingers or my two favorite necklaces around my neck.

In fact, the necklaces hardly ever come off. I sleep with them, I shower with them and most of the time I even leave them on when I go swimming. They have a sentimental value to me, plus, they are pretty darn cute.

So, my necklaces are only ever taken off for something great. And so for short while back, they came off… and were replaced by a little something different.

The Love Is team is amazing. When I met Kathleen from Love Is and saw the pieces I instantly fell in love with their Collar Bone Necklace and just passingly mentioned that I thought it would be quite cool to have it in black – in my mind I pictured it perfectly paired with their black phalanx ring. Before I knew it, Kathleen told me it could be done and they would even try to do a black chain for me.

A few weeks later, and here I am super excited with my own customized black collar bone necklace. It’s so unique and different in black, although I also have to admit, Rosie’s silver one is just as gorgeous! It’s not listed on their website since it was something that was spontaneously planned, but perhaps if you ask very nicely they can whip something up for you! I should give you a little heads up though, they told me that the black chain fades faster but fret not! Just let them know and they’ll polish them right back into a spankingly brand new, sparkling state.

I coupled the necklace with a few of Rosie’s B’Os rings and my phalanx rings. I decided to go with the bigger phalanx rings  – they may have been intended for men – but I had wanted something more “rough and rugged”.What I love about the phalanx rings is that even though they’re big and bulky, they’re also stackable without taking up too much space of your finger. One section of the bone of one phalanx ring fits perfectly into the slot of the other bone section of the other phalanx ring, and next thing you know, you got yourself some awesome layering action going on! Pretty groovy isn’t it?

I wore the rings while out and about exploring Italy and naturally I went for a comfortable outfit. This shirt is probably one of the most worn things in my closet, it’s so versatile. I’ve worn it to the office and to a drinks with friends.

That’s all for now folks!
