From Death Bed to Recovery !

In a time span of 4 months…………

Vicky! Vicky! His mother tried to bring him to consciousness but he laid dead on his bed. Tears rolled down his mother's eyes as she realized that Vicky overdosed on his medication.

Sensing that his body got cold his family rushed him to the hospital. He was admitted to ICU for 5 days. Doctors said he wouldn't survive but Vicky's fate had something else in store for him.

On the sixth day Vicky woke up, he was filled with guilt and shame of an unsuccessful attempt but his family consoled him and their joy had no limits. After realizing the strong family support Vicky realized that he had to gather courage, pick up his broken heart and utilize this second life God has gifted him.

Cut to four months later Vicky is now freelancing and making enough money to pay his doctor visit. The earning was low but he was happy and content.

He was a lot more fitter and mentally strong than ever before. Unlearning his bad habits was one of the strategies he implemented to get his life back on track.

Becoming more social reconnecting with family and friends was critical to his recovery. He cooked, dined, and shared household chores which kept him busy and distracted from his negative thoughts. Spending some time exercising and listening to his favorite music also helped to a great extent.

You must be wondering how Vicky's life suddenly became all rosy and smooth but the truth was he was still struggling in his mind but was able to lead a productive life with the help of psychotherapy and medication. The medication helped him to lessen the mental pain to a great extent and his counselor taught him different strategies to cope up with his mental illness.

I met Vicky a few days back and he narrated the entire story about his attempt and the aftermath.
I asked him permission to publish his story and he agreed immediately. If his life experience could give hope and motivation even to a single person struggling like him he would be very happy.
