We already eat cloned meat. Without knowing.

Yes!

We already eat meat from cloned animals. And even though cloning for consumption is still not allowed in the EU.

How is this possible?

Here's how: Europe imports ova, semen and milk from cloned animals, mostly from the United States. With this semen, female animals are fertilized. And since farmers are not obliged to label such meat with special labels, it goes without saying that we may buy cloned meat.

It is also claimed that meat products from cloned animals are not dangerous to consumers. But we know too little about cloned meat

However, details of the health status of cloned animals are known.

They are known to be more susceptible to disease. In addition, complications occur at birth, some of them being born with deformities.

Besides all this remains the ethical-moral question: "Are we entitled to this?"

well, if they inseminate a normal cow with semen from a cloned bull, the resulting offspring isn't a clone, but will have genetic material from both parents. is that all thats happening or are they implanting cloned embyros into cows or something? in any case, its still ewwwww! good post :)
