A computerized representation of a nation's currency is referred to as a Central Bank Digital Currency. It is digital money with the same value as the currency of the country that issues it.

Despite the fact that CBDCs are still a new concept, it is certain that a country's national bank will provide them. This suggests that, in contrast to digital currencies, this kind of cash would be centralized.

Advantages of CBDCS

• Counting the Unbanked: CBDCs are not comparable to conventional electronic banking, despite claims to the contrary. Currently, electronic banking is banking. Most of the time, you only want to have a financial balance with a real bank. Nevertheless, CBDCs eliminate the need for a bank because residents are able to easily access cash. The inclusion of the unbanked would greatly benefit from this kind of system.

• Legally Supported: This, in my opinion, ought to be the greatest advantage of these forms of payment. They are legal because they come from the Central Government, so people would think of them as a legitimate way to trade.

Disadvantages of CBDCs

• Concentrated: As I mentioned earlier, the Central Bank would issue CBDCs, which suggests that they would be combined. This is where trust comes into play. Resources would not be in full client control. In addition, the government's plans would have an impact on them. Financial standards rise and fall as a result of poor strategies.

• Privacy Shortage: CBDCs, in contrast to cryptographic forms of money, would fail to meet security requirements because the central authority would have the option to screen clients and their record activities.

• void in innovation: The goal is to reach the unbanked, but a significant portion of this population does not approach smartphones or other essential devices. If CBDCs are to succeed, they must address this technology gap, which is also known as the Digital Divide.
