Who is Wei Dai in the crypto space
Wei Dai: who is he?
One more unmistakable name in the crypto world is Wei Dai. This particular individual is not unknown, in contrast to Nakamoto. However, he takes great care to ensure that none of his images are posted online.
Dai, a Chinese computer engineer, has had a number of positive effects on the crypto industry. He played a key role in Crypto++ and VMAC, but b-money is probably his most well-known work.
Dai was one of the early advocates of cryptography and anonymity as a cypherpunk.
In 1998, he proposed b-money, a distributed ledger of anonymous digital cash. It should be the primary cryptographic money however tragically the work stayed only a distribution and was rarely completely executed.
Although B-money was never successful, it was crucial to the success of cryptocurrencies. In the Bitcoin Whitepaper, Satoshi Nakamoto made mention of some of Dai's works and corresponded with him via email. Nakamoto recognized B-cash and "extended" on the plan to make the primary fruitful digital money.
People eventually began to consider the possibility that Dai was the fictitious founder of Bitcoin due to his enormous significance in the cryptosphere. This theory took into account the similarities between the Bitcoin whitepaper and the B-money paper.
Additionally, Wei Dai had a stake in the success of cryptocurrencies. Even if Dai just changed the currency's name to something that sounds like Bitcoin, it could still be called B-money.
