Wei Ke Brunch, my go to place for brunch

This is my latest go to place for brunch, and don't be fooled by the dried flowers hanging from the ceiling in the featured photo. This isn't one of the those girlie Instgrammable places. Nothing wrong with that, only I won't be so keen on coming back all this time it was. This is the outside of Wei Ke Brunch. It's located on the corner of two streets, with full length windows on the front of the restaurant.

The inside is very spacious, by local standards, and every time I come here, they're always full. In fact, the first time I came, I had to wait for around 20 minutes for a table as it was bang during lunch time. During subsequent visits, I came a bit late to avoid the crowd.

So those dried flowers you see are by the open kitchen. This is another reason why I like this place. Open kitchen means hygiene, no hiding from anything and you can see your food being prepared.

The salad section, or rather the salad dressing section is next to the counter and the open kitchen. All the brunch sets come with a small side salad and a dressing of your choice. You can add more dressing and other garnishes here.

Like nearly all restaurants and places to eat in Taiwan, this is a self service place. You pick up your own cutlery and drinking water. Everything is basic and functional here, including the platic water cups. At least they're not using disposables which is good.

This is the menu, its actually double the size, when you open it up they have pictures of all the brunch sets. I didn't take a photo of the inside as I figured it would be pointless as the images are too small and you can't really see anything. The bear on the front is their logo which I thought was much more interesting.

Now when you see the food, you may understand why I like this place so much. The portions are plentiful and they do very good food! Each meal comes with a salad bowl and three chunky slices of bread. My wife really love the bread as she says they're very soft. Then theré's a boiled egg, and some chips. Yes, they do chips with bread, to make sure there is enough food.

The variation, is what main you want. On the top plate, we order fried chicken and sausages. And on the other portion we ordered pan fried chicken.

The salad is fresh, which is the most important. Egg, so and so, you can't really say much about a boiled egg. Chips are freshly fried, nice and crunhy. Bread, as I mentioned before, are my wife's favourite. To be honest, they really aren't bad I have to say. And the mains, the fried chicken and sausage obviously are bought in, I doubt they make them themselves, but at least they sourced a good product. And finally, the pan fried chicken, was well seasoned, succelent and not over done at all.

So now you understand why this is my go to place for brunch.
