Snapping pike

This fish also lives in the aquarium which I recently wrote, and it is called a Snapping pike - finding of the Gar atractosteus spatula, or Mississippi pancernik, Gar - an ancient fish, which has an unusual palate, reminiscent of the snout of a crocodile.

This fish is the largest member of the fish family antimycotic, which are extensively distributed in Central and North America.

Huge body for such a pike is a kind of armour composed of thick scales, and this armor is so durable that it bounce even large spears or harpoons. The Mississippi billfish fisheries have huge jaws, forming characteristic long "beak, mouth", which is fraught with danger for the other inhabitants of reservoirs. But in his "beak" is a long row of teeth similar to needles.

Such is the fish very lazy and slow, because I was able to photograph her. She had no one and tries to attack, but she eats fish small and crustaceans.
