STEEM price seems to be range bound. Not getting above $1.35. STEEM has lots 33% of its value versus BTC in the last month.
Your thoughts on why STEEM is stuck at $1.35 and losing ground fast to BTC?

Hey @davebrewer there was some rumors sometime ago about developers involved highly with steem having the power to have some control over the price of steem, this caused a heated debate and I simply dont have the knowledge to understand if its even possible, but I do think its obvious that people with alot of SP can have some influence on the price of steem. What I will say is that honestly I didn't feel like there was much point looking into why steem stayed at 1.35 the reason for this is because steem as still been going up and down, I checked a hourly graph and nothing looked suspicious, I feel steem will still raise upwards we just have to be patient as steem is in a great place.
How is it obvious that people with a lot of SP can influence the price of STEEM?
It is obvious that if you a whale vote, you can influence how the rewards pool is distributed.
But how the rewards pool is distributed is different topic than the market price for STEEM, versus fiat and versus BTC.

Yes this is true @davebrewer whale votes have a big influence on how steem is distributed on the platform but as for how SP as a influence on the price of steem it comes down to whales powering down and moving that SBD, when a whale or a few top whales power down its a massive amount of SP say like SP 40,000 each so if you have a few moving that much SP it will cause some changes to its value. I have heard some whales agree not to power down for a while to try and make the price of steem go upwards.
It's true, we are not gaining as the other crypto's are.

I think it will still take a little time we are one year in, its expected to take atleast 6 for things to really kick off, so 5 more years, I feel steem is in a great place already.
