Hello Steemian so Sir Michael Marmot, the author of government leading professor ordered a report on health inequality and something got hes attention.
He started by comparing progress in Britain to that of other European nations when it comes to health.

He as since discovered that other countries apart from Britain have longer life expectancies.

To which honestly doesn't surprise me at all... the stress you get from work, living up to society, the unhealthy habits that everybody tries to glamorise, the unhealthy eating...I could go on really I dont see why this is so surprising.

In conclusion Sir Michael Marmot said the country risked becoming the “sick man and woman of Europe”.

Indeed I could of told you that years ago..so the government is now being urged to launch an inquiry into why life expectancy rates in Britain have been stalled.

In Sir Michael Marmot analysis he found that according to the EU statistics body Eurostat, that the gap is getting every so wider, with apparently the growth in female life expectancy at birth being the worst in Europe.
Looking into men the male growth is the second worst in Europe.

In England apparently the female life expectancy at birth is now 83 which is below the EU average.
While interestingly for men it is slightly above the average at 79.

I bid them good luck as health inequality is a challenging and complex area its difficult to turn around and I am sure its driven by a variety of factors and not a singular problem.
I would probably put my first bet on food followed by unhealthy habits which in turn would lead to stress, which I am sure stress is very high on the list considering all the silly reasons we get forcefully stressed out with ridiculous expectations.‎

Its interesting as its said despite this there is widespread results level for better health, as apparently smoking rates are at an all time low I find this one hard to believe but ok, and also for cancer survival rates well they are at a record high.

Maybe its confusing for the government but it seems clear to me.

-Its to do with what we eat.
-Lack of exercise etc.
-We are a lazy nation.
-A decade is as unrealistic expectation of improvement.
-While 'A' level results can improve, evolution, doesn't work that way.
-4 years for men and 3 years for women over a ten year period that is extraordinary in itself
-Tory plan, keep them all working as long as possible or until they drop
-Standards of living here being reduced year on year out.
-Expectation at work are too stressful
