Daily Steem Price Update 1/2/2019

in #steemit7 years ago

Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 1/2/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 1/2/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today..

We must continue to remember that there's a possibility that Steem might fall down even lower than January's lowest this is due to Steemit-INC powerdowns. As for Bitcoin's part it was interesting how the previous falls show Steem being barely affected, but now that seems to be finally catching-up along with the news of some other exchange problems leading-up to this now current price decline. Still seems Bitcoins latest downwave was on the 28th, Bitcoin's highest was $4075 and it fell to $3491, now this 4th downwave for the month as sent Bitcoins from $3531 down to $3387 we seem to be recovering slightly at $3442. Did Steem continue it's down stream today? Well generally yes but it seems the downward pattern is slowing down, well perhaps.. as we started today at $0.27 but it did still fall to $0.26 at ⏰04.45 but it was back on $0.27 by ⏰09.00 and so the early buyers caught the best deals and from there Steem did not shift from being at $0.27 at all. You can still take the risk on waiting for possibly one of the biggest opportunities to buy Steem as the Steemit account is powering down, PANIC mode ON!? Let's not.. This whole thing is important yes because that account held around 44 million Steem! If the powerdown's don't stop in 13 weeks all that Steem will be tokenized meaning the price of Steem will drop by ALOT. While this means the end of days for some we still don't know how exactly Steem-INC are handling this move but I feel this Steem will probably go into other accounts and therefore keeping Steem price steady. And no I don't believe they are running away with the money, it seems they are protecting it due to some threats. If nothing much happens in 2019 then I hope those who are in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting Steem especially if the Steemit account continues to power down. You should know that Steem at these low prices and with the Steem power-downs it places us on a survival mode era basically Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's value to tank causing Steem-INC staff reductions, a possible threat to the website and the Steemit's account security. The conclusion is to cut down the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. Ned also said recently that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. SBD's yesterday like Steem were on a slow decline as this only started to be noticeable around ⏰07.35 SBD's fell to $0.82 at ⏰13.05 it then recovered to some middle ground "$0.85" today SBD's just keep downbumping and this only stopped at ⏰07.20 by that time SBD's fell slightly further than yesterday at $0.81 and while Steem done "abit of a wave" today SBD's spent the rest of it's time recovering what it lost and so placing them back at $0.85.

Always do your own due diligence the above is only a opinion.

Thanks for posting update

Hey @jkenny Steem continued it's down stream...well generally it was hard to tell but it seems the downward pattern is slowing down again perhaps.. it did still fall to $0.26, with bitcoins we seem to be recovering at $3442

Yikes! I sure do hope the power down's stop after the 13 weeks. What is that date?

I'am not sure on the exact date now @whatisnew, this is because they stopped the powerdown at one point and then started them again, but I am assuming somewhere in the 2nd week of April perhaps. The powerdowns could be great because imagine if Steem went down to around 5 cents, and so at such a low price those who already buy into Steem would buy alot more and then when Steemit starts putting the money back into other accounts everybody would get a instant ROI.

5 cents? OMG! Well like you said, that could be a good thing. Do you know if people are actually buying? To know that would give me more hope. Thanks for your thoughts on this @simonjay! : )

People are definitely buying @whatisnew infact they have never stopped, everyday people are buying you just have to keep in mind that the majority of those who are buying are people with little money so it may not seem like much as been brought, remember everytime I mention the price as gone up at certain times on my price updates that is people buying into Steem, another thing is there are many more new dolphins since the price as gone down we have now nearly 2000 dolphins! We had around 1560 and currently we have 1981 dolphins I will be one also soon added to the list basically there as never been a time were so many users have became dolphins, this is important as we need a stronger middle group in order for Steem to be successful because if not when the price goes back up Steem will just go to the whales and we wont get much as always.

I knew the "little people" were buying but I was wondering about the ones with fat wallets. LOL! I had no idea we have that many dolphins and you are so right about having a stronger middle group. Thanks for this info @simonjay! I did know that you are going to soon be added to the "pod" and that is very exciting. : )

Yea there are still atm around 8 or so per day who buy into a couple of thousand but remember soon as the price goes up there are those already willing to sell to make even the smallest of profits but that is ok because there are always those who refuse to sell like myself and instead use it to give back. @whatisnew yea while right now perhaps dolphin may not mean alot to some or make much of a difference but when the price goes back up I will be able to give back more than previously so your right it's very exciting.

I hope there are more who refuse to sell. And I hope to be like you one day so I can give back more also. Very, very exciting indeed! : )

I believe there will always be those who hold, in the ideal world there would be a balance because if nobody sold it would eventually create another problem where only people with the highest SP levels would actually gain anything and I wouldn't like to be there either, but you would atleast be able to sell any SP you do have for a huge some of money. And I believe people like you @whatisnew will be key to keeping people excited about Steem. Thanks keep your supprt coming as I dont power down.
