The Sukkot Fire!
Just popping in quickly to show you the Sukkot Fire. We start this fire on day 1 and we don't let it go out until the week is over! As you can see there are a few empty chairs, but as the night falls and the temperature drops those chairs will be filling back up again!

Did you travel far for your sukkot?
No, the group I meet with weekly have a spot in the area to camp!

That is a cool tradition. There is no way we could keep a fire going all week this year, it has rained almost everyday so far.
A very cool tradition...we have had some rainy years in the past and were able to keep the fire going. Just have to stay on top of it! :-)
sir simms50! what a great way to carry out this celebration but what if it starts raining, you have to cancel it? But I mean if the weather cooperates then it's a beautiful thing! I salute you guys.
Rain or shine...there is no cancelling!!! This year we had great temps and very little rain...so yeah having good weather does make it more enjoyable!
howdy sir simms50! oh that is so cool and much more pleasant if the weather cooperates! How long have you guys been doing this?
I have been doing it for around 4 years now but some of the people I did it with this year have done it around 20 years and then there are many others in between!
sir simms50! oh how interesting, so you are all doing it together. And is this like camping, like a camping trip or are you just sleeping in the tents at night after a regular day of work?
Yes there is a local group that gets together on some land that another local church owns so it is not really a camp ground per se but has some basic facilities and plenty of room for lots of tents.
There is a mix of people that take the whole week off of work to be there then others that come part time and still go to work throughout the week.
howdy again sir simms50! oh ok I see. Well that sounds like alot of fun actually, to be with fellow Believers and all! Praise God.
What an amazing idea - and challenge @simms50! Did you have a special Sukkot? We really wanted to go camping with friends, but our home situation with my autistic stepson really restricts us. We pray next year. Feasts are not quite as festive alone....
I have done Sukkot alone and yeah not as festive! As for special Sukkot..they all are to me, anytime we can spend time with God on His Holy Days are special! Hopefully next year you will get the opportunity to do some camping!
Thank you for your kind wishes @simms50
