working at home

in #art8 years ago

For more then 20 years I worked in companies not too close to home, punching the timecard for my nine-five job (ok, sometimes 9am-9pm ^_^ ), breaking the day with my collegues in front of the coffee machine.

In the last 4 years, 'cause my life changed, I've been working at home and I had to learn how to organize my time and my space. The first times it was not simple for me, because my current job is totally different from my old jobs and I had to re-invent my entire life.

I usually place my laptop on my kitchen's table, so in the morning I can work to share my artworks on social media, do public relation, take care of my customs, do some fast sketch and (sometimes) work on commission as project planner (the main part of my "old" job was the fund rasing and project planning for social-mental health organisations).

After the lunch, I finally work on my artworks! I placed my "work station" near the window, so the natural light help me to stay full of energy. At the end, my hands are full of spots, but it's my favorite part of the day!

While I'm working, when I need to have a break, I drink my cups of coffee, I clean my house (step by step), I talk at my phone, I take care of my hubby and my doggy, I cook and...I feel kind of crazy ^_^

In the previous pics you can see one of my paintings about the houses, it's a watercolors and pen draw that I made 2 years ago.

Happy Monday to you all!

I really hope, very soon more and more people can work at home.
It gives them more freedom and the possibility to arrange their time themselves.
Also it would lead to less traffic and pollution by cars.

I'm agree with you, @jaki01 . Working at home, I rarely use our car, I stopped to eat junk food and I can arrange my time.

Maybe, the future will be work at the house, but what about the social relationships. The coffee hour it is a good moment to interchange ideas, but maybe this message is a part of your coffee time right now. ;).

How to handle the social relationships working at home was one of my main thoughts, but over time I understood that it's a "false" problems because the "coffee times" (as you wrote) are my times for the social relationships. I can have a coffee break to interchange ideas or simply to talk with my friends, I can make a good coffee (or tea ^_^ ) here at home with my friends and other creative people, or I can go out with them.

Thank you for posting @silviebeneforti. Happy Monday to you.

Lovely paintings petite and commentary. Your post brought this principle to mind......Until there is routine...there cannot be concentration.

Thank you for the opportunity to ponder these things.

Wishing you and yours all the best. Ciao.

I have been working at home for 10 years now. Don't make so much money but I'm very happy with it. I'm my own boss.

Less money, but more satisfaction! ^_^
