Intense look
You know I like to take pics of birds and I'm lucky to live close to a small river where some different kinds of birds (and duck too) live, but usually they run away when I have the camera in my had, especially the egrets and the herons.
Today an unusual thing happened: the big grey heron didn't run away! He (or she?) was quiet, but watching to me his look seems to be very intense. He was enough close to me to take some nice pic, so I started (slowly) to get my Nikon out of my bag. Slowly and in silence.
I thought to be in the " Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" movie, even if I had just my camera, no gun for sure!
Finally, I took a pic of his look:
I'm happy to take these pics, he's perfect to became a subject for one of my paintings, isn't it?
In my area, in that part of the river, there are 2 of them, maybe they are a couple and I understand why the love to stay there, because in that small river there are a lot of little fishes ^_^
Nature is really a great source of inspiration for my art and now I can't wait to start a oil portrait (in my style) of this bird.

Gorgeous bird! That long neck is both freaky and graceful at the same time.
I love the snowy egrets and blue herons we get here, only our's don't arrive until early Summer late Spring. When I see the first Heron I know Summer is on it's way.

This couple of herons are unusual, because they use to stay in that part of the river also in the Autumn and in the first days of spingtime, but I think it's because here we have a very temperate weather ^_^
