Artist at work ^_^
Sometimes I feel a warm sensation inside myself and no, it isn't the hot weather of the Summer, but just the urge to create something new trying some new techniques ^_^
Tonight (during the day it's too hot to work, for me) I started a new oil painting on canvas. A different subject from my usual (a seascape) and using no brushes. I'm using just a piece of fabric and a little palette knife to ut the oil colors on the canvas. I started covering the canvas with white color to give it a layer and after I added the other colors using the piece of fabric. I'm working on my table and not in vertical with the easel, so it's strange for me, but sometimes I need to try something new to leave my hands really free to work!
The idea came to me after I watched a docu movie about the english painter William Turner. I really love his last paintings where we can see expressive colourisation and some imaginative turbolent sea paintings! Sure, I don't want to copy one of his artworks to exercise my hands, but to watch them and to hear about his tecniques was so inspired for me ^_^
Sorry, I'm not in my better dress and make up in the pic, but when I work (especially when I use the oil colors) I have to feel myself free to have some spots on my dress (and hair too :D).
It's just the start of this painting, but I couldn't resist to show you this first step!

This is real good art. She is not looking happy at all and its quite obvious. Could it be that she is not happy that age is catching up on her? I feel its a thing to be happy for. You choice of colour is beautiful and the picture presentation very awesome keep it up.
Like you, I also feel it's a thing to be happy! Every white hair, every wrinkle, everything represent a bit of us and our life and it's beautiful, but maybe she not agree with us ;)

I like it... and yes, she does seem a little sad and/or bored. She reminds me of some of my mother's friends as they got older; always "perfectly done up" with hair and clothes even though there was nowhere to go or be, but they kept going simply because it was "how things had always been done."
