A creative kitchen in a creative house ^_^
As I wrote in my previous post, today it was a sunny day, really warm, so I decided to give some touch of white colors on the wall of my kitchen to "refresh" them.
The last time I painted that wall was about 3 years ago, just some months after I married Paolo, and, as you can understand, it needed to be clean and re-painted again. Kitchen room is my favorite room and I spend many time there, especially because it's an open space where the sofa and the tv are placed and it's the room where I have my work corner too. When some friends come to my home, we usually sit in the kitchen drinking a good cup of coffee, we eat on the table in this room, we live in this room for the most of the time, so it's really and important room for our family and so I love to see it clean ^_^
I waited my hubby was out of home to do it because I love to do things like this when I'm home alone to work in quiet and taking the right time. ^_^
I had to paint just a part of the walls of the room, because I painted the others some days ago, but it was the part where many things are placed (dishes, pots, etc) so I spent the most part of the time placing things in the other room ^_^
After some hours, the kitchen was ready and I'm really satisfied by the result!
As you can see, it's a "creative" corner, because there is a portrait (one of my half-face portrait) of Janis Joplin that give a touch of color and a beautiful smile.
There is also the letter "K" and I have to explain why:
here in Italy we use the term "cappa" for the fume hood, but in our language "cappa" is also the pronunciation of the letter "K". In my kitchen there isn't a Cappa (fume hood), so we painted a "K" ^_^
I don't have pics of me at work, sorry, but you can image a "middle-age" woman on the stair with a big brush a withe spots everywhere! Move things from up to down and from kitchen to another room, upstairs and downstairs, it was better than some our at the gym!
I took a pic of "before", just to show you, but in the image the walls seems to be more white than in real ^_^
Now I need to sit oon my sofa ^_^

As @steevc beat me to it Ill have to say something else. Maybe us both being English put the same thought in our heads. @bingbabe keeps threatening to re-paint our kitchen which looks a little like yours in some places.
Its lime green right now, but also very dirty. She likes these smelly candles which are great but tend to make the walls and ceiling black over time. She's a little like you, will only do it when I'm not around. Maybe a trip to B&Q will help.
I can understand @bingbabe , I also love smelly candles, but the things that make the walls dirty in time are the pipe and the cigars of my hubby . The walls become yellow after few time... maybe the next time I'll paint them in shades of yellow, so the dirty will be invisible :D
