"FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN RUN BOY RUN!"........NORTHWEST ADVENTURES! 😀

“Fire On The Mountain, Run Boy Run!”🙄
This is what everyone was waiting for……..
Well at least the loggers!
Rain…………😅
“Atmospheric river number two”!😳
Seriously…. When did a hard rain become an atmospheric river Lol!😇
Last week we had almost 2 inches of rain, in a 24 hour period!🙃
Silvertop is hopeful that this coming storm changes course ever so slightly, and we get a few Sun breaks!😎
The loggers have started burning the remaining scrap trees, take a look at the first photo I snapped over at “Soaring Eagle” trailhead!
Apparently they have three years to burn these “slash” piles, and replant with baby trees, or they get Taxed at a much higher potential homesite rate!😇
Starting this time of year, you can be down in the valley, and spot numerous extremely large fires burning throughout the night on the slopes of the Mountains!😮
Even with heavy rains, these fires continue all night long !🙄
“Did the rain stop Liz…….I’m going for it!”☺️
Time for that hike……….
between the raindrops Lol!😅
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😄

Hey @silvertop, your adventurous spirit shines through even with the "atmospheric river" trying to dampen things! Those pictures of the slash pile burns against the backdrop of the mountain are stunning – a stark reminder of nature's cycle. It's fascinating to learn about the logger's timeline for burning and replanting; that tax incentive is a clever way to encourage responsible forestry! I can practically feel your determination to get that hike in "between the raindrops." Your posts always offer a unique glimpse into the PNW landscape and the rhythms of life there. Thanks for sharing – it's a breath of fresh (and smoky!) air! Anyone else brave enough to hike in this weather? What does everyone think about the logging practices?
