What are we looking at Silvertop, has someone been littering on the trails?🤔
Joan our neighbor had mentioned plastic bags on the trails, but we never really knew what she was talking about.
It was almost sixty degrees today so very nice!
Liz and I were passing neighbor after neighbor on our hike today!
We passed Joan at the trailhead, Chris taking a break on one of the wooden benches, Mike working on the electric on the bathroom of the Yurt he is building, and another neighbor that hasn’t lived here in a while.......A busy day!
We decided to hike a less traveled trail, and that’s when we saw these blue plastic bags attached to these trees.😯
Are these for dog poop cleanup?
Liz heard a tractor coming up one of the main trails, and told me to get a photo another day...
Silvertop never listens very well, I just had to go and look at these bags and see what they were for!😇
Ahhh.....I see, they are tapping the Big leaf Maples for the Spring sap for syrup!😊
Now that’s interesting, being a city boy, I have never seen this done before!
We will need to return to these trees, and see how much sap keith and Lynne get!
Maybe Silvertop needs to give this a try on his Maple trees!😊
