Well Face to face conversation is the most effective form of communication as one can also hear tone and see body language that make up even more of communication than the words we speak, but I still think its possible and good to engage with folks and make friendships even if its not through the most effective medium

Someone may say that because we... you and I for instance, cannot really know each other in social media, that therefore we aren’t real friends. And because we are “just” friends in social media, either you and I can just ghost the friendship and end friendships altogether. Excluding a spouse who is a soulmate and with whom ones total being is bound to, does anyone really know everything about anybody in this world. What do you think, @dwingsworld?

I can understand that view however I would note that both of us would aid each other in whatever way we could if the other was in need. This is more than what a lot of those that are closer in proximity or even see each other than us do. When I say we are family in this community I mean it and believe it really shows when we have times of need. Be well my friend!

Social media friendships although with limitations are valid friendships... and follow the same parameters as face-to-face friendships most specifically a basic respect for each other’s thoughts and opinions and acceptance of differences. I have to admit the friends I have made here on Steemit are some of my closest friends and one I know I can rely on, admittedly some of them I have known on other social sites before steemit but their true friendship has shown through over time

I have made some very good friends from my gun forum, and actually met 3 people face-to-face. One is a Marine Veteran, moving cross-country from NY to CO and his best route took him right thru my home town. Fortunately, it was here that his trailer failed, and not elsewhere. He was able to park it on my property and retrieve the contents as he was able. We have become pretty close and he has made many stops since.
Your a good person and a great friend to many. I am glad that we are friends, @underground. Thank you.
