Mesa Casting and Refining Inc.

Arizona has produced some amazing vintage silver ingots during the 1950s-1980s. I often ask myself. What is it about that area of the US that produced so many collectible ingots?

On the top of my to own list is Mesa Casting and Refining Inc. I have been looking for about a year. Ever since I saw a pair of 10oz class ingots sell on Instagram. Those two ingots had the original order and receipt paperwork. That paperwork was the connection between the "cactus hallmark" and Mesa Casting and Refining Inc.

A good friend of mine. Who happens to live in Arizona. Came across one of these ingots last week. image

I am very fortunate to have some good friends in the community. My buddy sent me this ingot a couple hours after he purchased it. I am thrilled to own it. An excellent crude looking ingot. Demonstrating a symbolic hallmark, odd weight, and serial number.

The layering on the side edge is great. It is difficult to see. But, there is a small circle on the reverse side. It is actually a small hole that leads to a hollow cavity with in the ingot.

These are the types of ingots I believe will hold significant value in the future. Information that documents where they were produced and when. Along with having all the popular charactoristics..

Nice piece. Mesa means table. Studying Spanish is beginning to pay out ;)

Thanks! Perfect Spanish in my book!
