We want to talk about a marvelous land - from Azerbaijan, its unique nature, centuries-old culture, history, the ancient inhabitants of this region - its life, traditions and traditions combining different cultures and civilizations.

Azerbaijan is a geographical name. The name of Azerbaijan is, on the one hand, related to the fact that most of the people who lived long ago in this area are atheists. "Azer" means shooting. The eternal flame is considered to be the symbol of the Absheron Peninsula, where the capital of Baku was located. There are naturally burning torches in this area. One of these miracles in nature is the Burning Mountain in the village of Mahammadi in Absheron Peninsula. Surakhani has an ancient monument called Ateshgah on the never-ending wood. This phenomenon has caused Azerbaijan to be recognized as the "Fireplace of the World" in the world.

On the other hand, it was taken on the territory of Azerbaijan in the name of the tribe of Turk tribes living in ancient times. "Azer" - consists of "az" and "er". In Turkish, "az" has meanings like good intentions and a fortune. "Azer" means "husband", "son of a son", "firefighter". So, "Azerbaijan" came from the name of the ancient Turkic-speaking tribe living in this area.

The territory of Azerbaijan is a rich source for archaeologists. Excavations at Azykh Cave in Karabakh revealed traces of human civilization 2 million years ago in Azerbaijan. The human jaw, known as Azykhantrop, from the Ashel era, gives rise to the fact that early human settlement in the territory of Azerbaijan. This finding has incorporated Azerbaijan into an early human settlement map in Europe.

The history of statehood in Azerbaijan is five thousand years old. The first states in this area emerged in the 4-3 millennium BC.

Famous Azerbaijani carpets embody all the colors, dyes, and all the history of nature. Today, as flying carpets, they go far beyond the boundaries of time and space and go far beyond the borders of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani carpets are unique in their unique design, full color, and specific weaving techniques. These ancient art examples of Azerbaijan are exhibited in museums and galleries such as Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Textile Museum (Washington), Louvre (Paris), Topkapi (Istanbul), Hermitage (St. Petersburg).

Science and education in Azerbaijan have centuries-old history. Baku State University, founded in 1919, and the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, established in 1945, played an exceptional role in the development of science, education and culture in the republic. Today, the interest of the republic's scientists includes the depths of the Caspian Sea, the cosmos, the secrets of the human brain, and other problems.

Music traditions also have deep roots in Azerbaijan. The earliest musical instrument discovered in the country is the mausoleum in Gobustan. As part of the musical heritage of Azerbaijan, the mugham art was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Azerbaijan is also known as the cradle of classical music in the East. The opera Uzeyir Hajibeyli's "Leyli and Majnun" opera was first performed in 1908. Following that, the Maiden Tower was the first of its kind in the Muslim East in 1940, written by Afrasiyab Badalbeyli. In April 1912 Shovkat Mammadov became the first Muslim female opera singer.

Over the next decades, works by Gara Garayev and Fikret Amirov have left an indelible mark on classical music. Vagif Mustafazadeh, who created a unique synthesis of jazz and mugham in the 1950-1970s, made Azerbaijan one of the centers of jazz in the East.
