Good morning this morning my lovely people, its a beautiful Christmas Day.

The sun is out

The birds are singing

Honk-honk ... The vehicles keep screaming(the city is already jam packed from travelers, holiday and Xmas makers).

I literally spent 2 hours on a 40 minutes rides to church last evening for program, and they were almost dismissed by the time i got in.

But most importantly, i am grateful to the @cotina team for bringing up this great contest .

...It was actually put up weeks ago to prepare and put us in check, THANK YOU.

Permit me to digress a little to how my year began. Just like with every new year, expectations at the brink and then i rolled into the year.

I must confess it skipped so fast and just maybe i lost grip because before i knew it, we were in the festive month, 'DECEMBER'. but what to do, i am thankful for life and by all means i am happy for the season.

The tradition in these part of the country, Nigeria just like every other part of the world celebrate Christmas and always look forward to it.

It is usually celebrated with family and blood relatives from far and near. This is the season many people take a break from work and business activities to travel either to their villages or on vacations with immediate family.

Little wonder why business activities, shops, outlets and the likes are on a total shut-down in these festive season. Walking through my streets i could feel the emptiness already.

Personally i did not travel due to the prevailing issues of insecurity around my presiding states, it truly made me feel sad, especially watching my friends on social media enjoying while having the time of their lives on social media in their indigenous villages.

But, hey! I still had a good time over here in town with few familt members and friends, so no worries !!!

I work in an early learners school and payment for the 11th month ending was made, i ceased the moment, here's what i purchased with part of my salary...

Ahead of the end of year Christmas party, i got myself some adorable items, as soon as i was paid the month of November, i got myself this Vibrant Jean trouser(Light blue shade, you could call it a sky blue colour ) and i also got myself a sleek black sneakers with white designs on it.

These are my financial expenses for the Christmas celebration. The jean trouser you see above was 7,000 naira, while i purchased the sneakers at a popular plaza, known as Ibom plaza around the federal university of the state (University of Uyo)at the sum of 5,000 naira which sums up to the total of 12,000 naira which is approximately 120 STEEM.

Our school end of the year party for the term was what flagged off my party session.

At Ontario International Academy, it was all love and light and on the 9th day of December, we had the celebration, with the pupils in their colourful Christmas outfit and some dressed up with lighted green and red shoes or light gleaming head bands for the girls, the parents were not left out as they appeared all glamouring for the end of the year Christmas party representing their children very well, while we staff appeared in white shirt on blue jean trouser and black sneakers.

That was the given dress code from the school administrator.

For my kitchen involvement, i got these frozen chicken from a local vendor around my environ. they will be marinated soonest.
It's amazing how the prices of these chewy edibles have skyrocketed in just few months, a live chicken that went for 4,000 naira in the past now goes for about 8000 to 9,000 naira, the bigger chicken cost about 10,000 to 15,000 naira.

I was able to negotiate and got a fair size for 5,500 naira.

Well, i left for church early as it is the Lord's day, a Sunday, so there was no time to drool in the kitchen, it was an awesome service by the way, Our pastor, Pst. Love Adesina of House on the Rock, Uyo. He made sure the service was brief so as to enable families return quickly to their homes and make merry, we closed at exactly 12noon. The service filled with love, dancing, carols and thanksgiving.

I also happened to be a party guest at a wedding of a very phenomenal friend, Mr. Moses Isaac. He is my colleague at work too although he works at the second back branch of the school which is situated at Eket, still within the state. He was very happy to see me grace his occasion and ofcourse i could make the uncomfortable road journey from Uyo to Eket.

And hey, meet Jamie, my best performing pupil, smart and full of life, he never stops to wow me with his sense of maturity at his age and his level of creativity. He turned 5 in september. We had face painting during our Christmas party/carnival, and i tell you it was a whole fun.
