Supply boat is on its way south through Langenuen in winter scenery

in #norway6 years ago

It is not every year there is so much snow in winter in Western Norway as during winter 2010. For a long period that year, it was a cold and snowy winter. Perhaps the coldest winter after 2000 in Western Norway.
The pictures show the beach at Rummetveit på Stord, and in some of the images, we can see a supply boat on its way south through Langenuen.
When oil was found in the North Sea around 1970, Stord immediately became a vital place in oil development. Stord had long experience with the construction of large tankers. Eventually, people at Stord became the skilled and experienced in building oil platforms and oil rigs.
Shipowners focused on offshore boats, and in the picture, there is such a supply boat we see.
Otherwise, the boathouse shows the environment in the beach of Rommetveit that there is plenty of snow in the area.
